It’s happening again. The Mayor of Boston, the fossil fuel industry, the utilities are all promoting the status quo - new development powered by fracked gas.
If they get their way, National Grid’s proposed Back Bay/South End intermediate pipeline will supply fracked gas to one or more proposed luxury skyscrapers. National Grid formally introduced the project to the Public Improvement Commission (PIC) on October 8, 2017.
The Boston Clean Energy Coalition, of which Resist the Pipeline is a founding member, is organizing two actions:

Our goup (thank you Katy Eiseman) wrote a resolution which Councilor Josh Zakim will present to the council tomorrow (Wed, Oct 18). Councilor Matt O’Malley is co-sponsoring. This resolution asks the PIC to delay approval of the project until a more thorough review can take place. We are asking for a big turnout to demonstrate our support of this resolution.
Support the City Council Resolution at the Public Improvement Commission Hearing

The Public Improvement Commission (PIC) is holding a public hearing on Thursday Oct.19 at 10 am City Hall, Room 801 to consider the National Grid project (and many other mundane matters). We are again asking for a large turnout to express our disapproval of this proposal. There will be opportunities to testify, make your voice heard. The Massachusetts chapter of the Sierra Club, a BCEC member, has suggested talking points.
