Early in the morning Lor Holmes and Mike Kenton locked their necks to cars with reinforced, metal U-locks right in front of the M&R station entrance. They shutdown work for over two hours.  Slowly they were cutout by the fire department, and the cars were eventually towed. Lor took this action in solidarity with the Dakota Access pipeline resistance.

“I am humbled and grateful that I was able to be part of an action with the West Roxbury Resistance at the Spectra construction site, shutting down work and standing in solidarity with the righteous First Nations people and allies holding the line at Standing Rock to stop the Dakota Access Pipeline (#noDAPL). They really need our support right now to bring their leaders to DC next week. The folks out there are putting their lives on the line and they don’t even have funds for gas and food. Learn more about their fight and donate to help the Headsmen (traditional leaders) travel to Washington, DC to be present at a Federal Injunction Hearing on September 9th to stop the Dakota Access Pipeline. Give as much as you can. Later that day, people engaged in a spontaneous “moving blockade” (blocking something but moving before getting arrested). At the weekly Monday night vigil, people stopped worked for another hour “by standing on the sidewalk like we always do”. They prevented a truck from entering the M&R station until the police showed up. No one was arrested.
